These selected papers are compiled for a discussion on the analysis of conflict resolution. The cases are selected from the occurrence of Gulf War in 1980 between Iran-Iraq War and the role of the third party in conflict resolution and the implementation of resolution 598. The role of the United Nations and Collective Security is presented in second chapter on how the UN mechanism can work to assist the conflicting parties toward a resolution process. The idea of intermediaries’ parties is discussed in the Track II Diplomacy chapter. As we have witnessed the deadly conflicts occur in the Middle East and Arab countries and some parts of the worlds, this book can become a reference on how the role and the involvement of third party or a security mechanism to some extent can assist in maintaining the safety of conflicting parties
